Bridget Murphy Milligan's artwork explores the relationship between photography, communication, and storytelling. Milligan received an MFA in Photography from Indiana University in 2000 and a BFA in Painting and Photography from Miami University in1997. Milligan is Associate Professor in the Department of Art and Art History at The College of Wooster and has had the privilege of teaching photography, digital imaging, and drawing since 2000.
Milligan's artwork has won several awards, including the Jacob K. Javits Fellowship from the United States Department of Education in 1998-2001 and the Ohio Arts Council Individual Artist Fellowship in 2003 and 2007. Recently, she was a finalist in Photolucida's Critical Mass competition. She has exhibited in group shows throughout the US and in solo shows at, among others, Silver Eye Center for Photography, Pittsburgh and Workspace Gallery in Lincoln, Nebraska and the galleries of Miami University, Kent State University, and the University of Missouri.
