The un-Named

A practicing Zen Buddhist, I found zazen, objectless meditation, similar to photographing. Photography, with its illusion of fixing a moment in time and space, lends itself well to a teaching that values being in the here and the now without attempting to define, categorize or analyze the experience. In this series, I photograph without goals, without concept, without any ideas what the series is about. I’m responding intuitively to somehow express the indescribable nature of existence as it is. Trying to create art without any concept is in itself, actually a concept, and the irony of this has not escaped me.
