From the birth of photography, photographers have creatively manipulated images to fulfill a purpose, reflect a style, or express an emotion. Despite the history of photographic manipulation, photographs have always been, and still are, intrinsically trusted as truth. Just as photographs deceive even the most seasoned of eyes, our own memory also lies to us. We remember details that never existed and forget details we unconsciously deemed too insignificant or painful to be stored. This series of bromoil prints eludes to the haziness of stored memories, however truthful or factitious they may be.
