Meredith Davenport: Membering

How does one account for a history of enslavement and the distorted narratives that are built around the shame that a legacy like this leaves in its wake? Membering is a collection of narratives about the artist's family history as enslavers. This project is a collection of layered narratives using images and words from found documents related to the artist's family story, which begins with a slave ship and ends with the death of her father.

Michael Sherwin | Vanishing Points: Revisiting America's Ancestral Landscape

In Vanishing Points, Michael Sherwin locates and photographs significant sites of indigenous American presence, including ancient earthworks, sacred landforms, documented archaeological sites and contested battlegrounds. While visiting these sites, Sherwin reflects on the monuments our modern culture will presumably leave behind and what the archaeological evidence of our civilization will reveal about our time on Earth.
