The Society for Photographic Education is a proud partner of #GivingTuesday.
What is #GivingTuesday?
On Tuesday, December 1, 2015, charities, families, businesses, not for profit organizations, community centers, professionals, and students around the world will come together for one common purpose: to celebrate generosity and to give. #GivingTuesday harnesses the potential of social media and the generosity of people around the world to bring about real change in their communities; it provides a platform for them to encourage the donation of time, resources, and talents to address local challenges. It also brings together the collective power of a unique blend of partners—nonprofits, civic organizations, businesses and corporations, as well as families and individuals—to encourage and amplify small acts of kindness.
As a global movement, #GivingTuesday unites countries around the world by sharing our capacity to care for and empower one another.
SPE’s international community of photography professionals, educators, students, curators, gallery directors, journalists, collectors, and critics is sustained by the same principals as #GivingTuesday. The generosity of our members and friends—whether through membership, sponsorship, donations, and gifts both big and small—comes back to our community in ways such as programming, mentoring, networking, exhibition opportunities… just to name a few.
