The Hand Magazine publishes contemporary art that incorporates light-based or print-based processes. This includes any and all types of photographic process, including collage an mixed media work.

Location

The Hand Magazine in based in Kansas City.

Fees

$15 US, $20 Canada/Mexico, $25 outside North America

Eligibility

Everyone is eligible.

Requirements

Submission fee, five images, submission form.

Awards

Publication in the magazine. No special awards. All submitting artists receive a copy of the magazine whether work is selected for publication or not.

Considerations

The Hand is particularly interested in images that show the hand of the artist. This is interpreted broadly and could include the printing of the image itself, the manipulation of subject matter, or simply the presence of the artist, literally or metaphorically, within the work.

We select our favorite stuff.
