Corporate MembershipsSee current corporate and institutional member list Society for Photographic Education offers the category of corporate membership to recognize the corporate community which has supported our organization's activities over the years. Corporate membership provides opportunities to expand your visibility and heighten recognition among SPE's photographic community. SPE is a non-profit, international organization of artists, teachers, curators, writers and critics dedicated to promoting high standards in photographic education by fostering the practice and art of photography. The society is the leading national service organization for photographic educators and the representative body for faculty in college, university, and high school photography programs. This special invitation to join as a corporate member is an opportunity to participate in our mission of bringing together artists and photographers to address the issues and technologies transforming the visual arts. Why Join?Approximately 95 percent of the society's members are active photographers, and 80 percent teach photography. On average, each of our members spends about $5,000 annually on photographic equipment, supplies and books. In addition many also make departmental purchases and influence the buying decisions of thousands of photography students — an average annual market of about 100 million dollars. Member BenefitsA year's corporate membership in the Society for Photographic Education gives you:
The Society for Photographic Education is a non-profit, membership organization that provides a forum for the discussion of photography and related media as a means of creative expression and cultural insight. Through its interdisciplinary programs, services and publications, the society seeks to promote a wider public understanding of the medium in all its forms, and to foster the development of its practice, teaching, scholarship, and criticism. Founded in 1963, the Society construes photographic education in the broadest sense, concerning itself with the practice and analysis of the medium both as art form and as an instrument of social consciousness. In addition to teachers at nearly every academic level, our membership includes critics, curators, gallery directors, exhibition photographers, photojournalists and collectors. And the society has an international presence as well, with representatives from different countries, on this continent and abroad. SPE National Conference WaiverEach spring SPE hosts a national conference, a four-day gathering that provides an opportunity for you to make and renew friendships, exchange ideas with other members, become acquainted with the latest developments in the field, and meet some of photography's most illustrious talents. A key feature of each conference is the exhibits fair, which provides attendees the opportunity to learn about the latest equipment, technologies, publications, and support organizations, as well as visit with over 50 corporate exhibitors.
